Voters in Politics
Hola, y’all
I’m Carla Catalán Day - Welcome to my platform, where I bring my experience, passion, and expertise to elevate the voices of the Hispanic/Latinx community in politics—seen through the eyes of a millennial Mexican-American working-class mom just trying to raise a healthy, happy family. I ran for the North Carolina State House in 2022—but gerrymandering had its way with the district and I got tangled in it. But hey, I’m still here, and my mission remains the same: to shed light on the policies that matter most to us, foster engagement, and inspire action for real change.
With experience in public health, environmental health, and social equity, I’ve seen firsthand how our community can make a powerful impact when we unite behind a common cause. Whether it's fighting for policies that benefit working-class families or pushing for greater civic participation, my goal is simple: to empower individuals to take control of their political future.
And no matter what the maps say, we’ll keep fighting for it!

“Carla Catalan Day ran a phenomenal grassroots campaign for NC House District 74 in 2022. Carla and her team worked hard and received almost 70% of the vote to win her primary. In the general election, Carla only lost by ~1,800 votes in an effort to turn the district from red to blue.”
-Courtney Gibson, Campaign Manager
“Carla Catalan Day had every reason not to run for office — but she did it anyway. She made time to put her name on the ballot and on the line for her community. She made time to go talk to folks and see what they needed. She made time to call everyone she knew (and many she didn’t know) for an investment in her campaign. What she pulled off as a first-time candidate was just shy of a miracle. I’m proud to have worked on her campaign and even more proud to call her my friend.”
